Researching the prices of basic items before buying can result in savings of up to 20%. That's what the analysis of the Disque Economia price survey conducted by Plural shows. Prices recorded from February 6 to March 13 show that the average cost of basic basket items in Curitiba saw a slight increase over the period.
The Disque Economia program, which monitors prices at supermarkets in the capital.
Considering 13 traditional basket products — meat, milk, beans, rice, flour, potato, tomato, bread, coffee, banana, sugar, oil or lard, and butter — the average value rose from R$ 158,21 on February 6 to R$ 161,35 on March 13, an increase of approximately 1,98% in the period.
The difference in prices between markets, however, reaches almost R$ 35. Based on these data, Plural created a special calculator that helps you find out at which market your shopping will be cheaper.
