The collective 1 Milhão de Árvores is organizing a symbolic act to demand action against the State Court of Accounts (TCE) councilor, Durval Amaral. The councilor was summoned to provide explanations about the illegal deforestation of 54,6 hectares of Atlantic Forest on the Fazenda Produtor, which he owns. The act will take place this Wednesday (11), at 17 h, in front of the TCE.

According to the organization, 54 trees will be planted on the banks of the Belém River, near the Court, in reference to the 54 hectares that Durval Amaral is accused of having deforested.

The movement is calling for the councilor to step down. In a public statement, the collective stated that “a citizen accused of a crime of this kind cannot be deciding the lives of millions of Paraná residents”.

In November 2025, the Municipal Environmental Council of Londrina (Consemma) sent a letter to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Paraná requesting information about the case of the illegal deforestation of 54,6 hectares.
